Nordik K9 offers a variety of training, boarding, and enrichment services to meet the needs of pet dogs, working dogs, and their handlers.
Private Training
One-on-one training sessions tailored to your dog's individual needs. Sessions can be conducted at our facility, in your home (with exceptions), or at a mutually agreed-upon location
Group Classes
Structured classes designed to build obedience, confidence, engagement, and real-world skills. This includes puppy classes, Level 1 and Level 2 obedience, sport scent development, and other specialty programs offered throughout the year.
Day Training
Drop your dog off with our trainers for focused training sessions during the day. This is an excellent option for busy owners who want professional training support while maintaining their dog at home.
Daycare
Structured daycare that provides exercise, enrichment, social opportunities, and supervised care throughout the day. For owners looking for additional skill development, our Day Training program is often the best value.
Board & Train
An immersive training experience where your dog stays with our team and receives daily professional training. This is our most comprehensive training option and is ideal for owners seeking accelerated results and intensive support.
Boarding
Safe and comfortable overnight care with daily exercise, enrichment, and professional supervision. Dogs requiring training support may benefit more from one of our Board & Train programs.
Workshops & Seminars
Educational events covering a variety of topics, including obedience, scent detection, search and rescue, canine fitness, behaviour development, and canine first aid.

In most cases, yes.
For Private Training, Day Training, and Board & Train programs, we require an initial consultation or assessment to ensure we understand your dog's needs and can recommend the most appropriate training plan.
For Group Classes, a consultation is not required, but it is always recommended. This helps us ensure your dog is placed in the most suitable class and allows us to address any specific goals or concerns before training begins.
For Daycare and Boarding, we require a brief 30-minute assessment prior to your dog's first stay. This allows us to evaluate your dog's comfort level, review any care requirements, and ensure they are a good fit for our facility and programs.

Once we receive your inquiry, we will discuss your goals, answer any initial questions, and schedule a consultation based on trainer availability. We make every effort to match you with the trainer best suited to your dog's needs, personality, and training goals.
Consultations are $249.99 and typically last 1 to 1.5 hours.
What is a consultation and why is it important?
A consultation is much more than a conversation about your dog's behaviour. It is a standardized intake and evaluation process that allows our trainers to properly assess both the dog and the handler before making training recommendations.
During the consultation, we evaluate factors such as:
Your dog's temperament, confidence, and overall demeanor.
Potential triggers, stressors, and behavioural concerns.
What motivates your dog, including food, toys, play, and other reinforcers.
Existing obedience skills and training history.
Social behaviour around people, dogs, and environmental distractions.
Communication between you and your dog.
We also assess the handler by observing:
Leash handling skills.
Timing and delivery of rewards.
Communication and engagement with the dog.
General dog training knowledge and experience.
Household goals and expectations.
This information allows us to develop a training plan that is tailored specifically to your dog, your family, and your goals. By taking the time to conduct a thorough evaluation, we can provide the most effective recommendations and set both you and your dog up for long-term success.
After the initial consultation, the trainer will determine if fast-tracking into specific training activities is suitable for your dog. It will depend on your dog's behavior, temperament, and readiness for the particular activities.
At Nordik K9, we believe there is no single training method that is appropriate for every dog. Instead, we focus on an individualized approach that takes into account the dog's temperament, genetics, motivations, learning style, and the goals of the handler. That being said, we adhere to the high standards set by The Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers® (CCPDT).
Our foundation is built on clear communication, consistency, clarity, and relationship-building. We utilize rewards such as food, toys, play, praise, and environmental access to teach and reinforce desired behaviours. We also believe dogs benefit from clear boundaries and accountability, particularly when safety, reliability, and real-world performance are important.
Training plans are tailored to each individual dog. What works for a confident, high-drive working dog may not be appropriate for a sensitive family pet, and vice versa. Our trainers evaluate each dog and handler team to determine the most effective and humane approach for achieving their goals.

Absolutely! Nordik K9 welcomes dogs of all breeds and ages. Our trainers tailor the training programs to meet each dog's unique needs and abilities.
Vaccination requirements vary depending on the age of the dog and the service being provided.
Puppies (Private Training or Puppy Classes)
Puppies must have received at least one age-appropriate veterinary-administered vaccination (DA2PP/DHPP) and be a minimum of 10 days post-vaccination before their first class. Proof of vaccination is required prior to attending.
Boarding and Board & Train Programs
Dogs must be current on:
Rabies
DHPP (Distemper, Hepatitis/Adenovirus, Parvovirus, Parainfluenza)
Bordetella (Kennel Cough)
Proof of vaccination is required prior to arrival.
Daycare and Day Training
Dogs must be current on:

DHPP (Distemper, Hepatitis/Adenovirus, Parvovirus, Parainfluenza)
